So Christmas is coming. Whether you like it or not, all things festive are well and truly upon us, and that’s coming from someone who lives in a household of NO Christmas before the 24th December!
November has been a chaotic month (for the good, obviously) but I always say better busy so can’t complain. On the plus side, the temperature has dropped and we’ve had the first proper frost of the year, whilst been superby wrapped up in all of our own lovely sheepskin goodies.
The start of the month brought about an exciting blog post by A Country Lady. Abi did a fantastic job of reviewing our product and took some fabulous pictures! If you haven’t already, read her thoughts here. Abi discusses all things rural and does a fabulous job of it so do take five minutes to have a gander.
Having spoken to the Harper Adams Students last month, it was entertaining (to say the least) to get a message from the lecturer who had brought me in showing the picture taken for Enterprise Week in Telford! She had taken her students to a business start-up course where local entrepreneurs had their pictures dotted around the suite. It was a shock to get this, having not actually seen the picture prior to it going up- the end result? Pretty scary, I think!?
Amongst on-line orders and wholesale shipping’s came Country Living London. I was apprehensive about this, due to the high cost of exhibiting, but it was a worthwhile event and we met some fabulous people. It’s always good to get out and meet your customers face to face, as well as getting continuous feedback on our beautiful products.
From London, we headed to a day at the races! We took a stand at the Country Living Christmas Fair at Ascot. Having never been before, it was amazing to be able to exhibit in the beautiful grandstand there. It was such a fun place to be, even if some of our helpers spent more time between tote and track than actually on the stand…
We headed onwards and upwards (literally) to Country Living Harrogate. This was a completely different experience again, but yet again we met some great exhibitors who made it all more fun, as well as staying in perhaps the most comfortable Bed & Breakfast I have ever stayed in (Alamah Guest House). It was also really lovely to see an old uni friend who unfortunately bore the brunt of me being in a slightly less than charming mood, but I think she understood! We fortunately had our Men’s sheepskin slippers in just in time for Harrogate and they’re flying! Only a few remain so get in their quick…
Perhaps most excitingly of all, we’re going to be in Tatler magazine (Jan issue), which is out on Dec 4th! It’s great to have a first point of contact here as, who doesn’t love to nose through this iconic volume!
Now, having mentioned all of these Christmas Fairs we’ve been attending, it only seems right to point out that it is a mere 24 days until the big event itself! Which means you only have 19 days to get your on-line orders in and know that there will be some cosy Christmas cheer under the tree for your loved ones. Make sure you grab things while they’re still available- certain items are selling out FAST! You can buy here www.bysikora.co.uk .
We have a break from the chaos in our sights, but not before our final few festive events! We are at the Harper Adams Christmas Shopping Evening tomorrow (2nd December) which should be fun, followed by the Islington Centre for Refugees and Migrants on Friday 5th December which is always a great atmosphere and really worth a visit. We finish with a two week stint in London at a Christmas market on the Southbank by Tower Bridge. If you’re out and about or managing to get to any of the events do pop by and say hello!
Finally… we’ve shared this before, it’s nothing new but absolutely beautiful! So if you’re not yet feeling festive, take a look at the super-duper, stunningly gorgeous nativity film- it’s a favourite of ours (the sheep costumes are the BEST!!!)…
We always love to hear from you, more so see pictures of you out and about loving life in our fabulous products. We would love it if you could share any pictures of your newly purchased Christmas sheepskin goodies with us on our various social media (facebook, twitter or instagram) as it’s all a bit more fun when people interact!
